Doctor of Technology (D.Tech) in Media, Language and Communication, Durban University of Technology, Africa, (2010). • Dissertation topic: The Language of Digital Learning. (Published by ProQuest). • DUT is one of the largest universities in Africa with 23,000 students. They are a post-apartheid university that is fully accredited, both nationally and internationally. Our chancellor was Ela Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi. They are on the “British system” that requires an extensive dissertation but no course work. This allowed me to continue my position at Wilberforce University. • I received a “full ride” scholarship (PGDS). This paid all of the tuition, travel and general expenses. • Since graduating I have been appointed as an Honorary Research Associate. • In 2013, I examined a master’s thesis from DUT student, Mr. R. Pregalathan: A Learning Object Repository for Computer Assisted Language Learning in Order to Provide Resources for Language Learners in Schools in Kwazulu-Natal. He successfully completed the degree in 2014. Hobbies

Besides teaching, some of my favorite experiences have included skiing, surfing; watching a professional football game with the players on the sidelines (Packers vs. Saints). I have also participated in a fire walk; jogged around the original Olympic stadium in Athens; watched an active volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii; and I have traveled to over 16 different countries, mostly in Europe and the Caribbean. I have tried a variety of sports and enjoy volleyball, ultimate frisbee, etc.
